Elev8 Freedom Schools is a literacy-focused six-week summer experience that focuses on culturally diverse literature that highlights local Baltimore artists, authors, the Black, brown and indigenous experience in America while reinforcing college and career readiness standards.  This youth-focused program has been designed to include youth voice and choice within all aspects of the program and curriculum’s design.  This unique experience is available for students in grade k-12.

Program begins July 5, 2023 to August 10, 2023, running Monday through Thursday, 8:30 am – 3:00 pm. Breakfast and lunch will be provided to all students!

 

Summer Freedom Schools is open to all eligible Baltimore City students, and will be held at the following sites:

• Abbottston Elementary School, 1300 Gorsuch Ave. (Current 2nd – 3rd Graders, 3rd – 5th Graders Next Year)
• Arundel Elementary School, 2400 Round Rd. (Current 1st Graders, 2nd Graders Next Year)
• Cecil Elementary School, 2000 Cecil Ave. (Current 2nd – 4th Graders, 3rd – 5th Graders Next Year)
• Collington Square Elementary/Middle School, 1409 N. Collington Ave. (Current 2nd – 7th Graders, 3rd – 8th Graders Next Year)
• Historic Cherry Hill Elementary/Middle School, 801 Bridgeview Rd. (Current 5^th-7^th Graders, 6^th-8^th Graders Next Year)
• Southwest Baltimore Charter School, 1300 Herkimer St. (Current 2^nd-7^th Graders, 3^rd-8^th Graders Next Year) *At this time SBCS is only accepting waitlist applications*
• Thomas Jefferson Elementary/Middle School, 605 Dryden Drive (Current 5^th-7^th Graders, 6^th-8^th Graders Next Year)
• Wildwood Elementary/Middle School, 621 Wildwood Pkwy. (Current 5^th-7^th Graders, 6^th-8^th Graders Next Year)
